Kapikan ("we", "us", or "our") operates the KapikanMaps mobile application and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your full name, email address, and phone number. You may optionally provide business information such as your SIPI number, NPWP number, and vessel details.

Location Data

We collect your GPS location only while the app is in use to display your position on the fishing map. We do not track or store your location history on our servers.

Device Information

We collect a device identifier for session management and security, along with device model and OS version for troubleshooting purposes.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the Service: Display fishing predictions, manage your account, and enforce permissions.
  • Security: Single-session enforcement, device verification, and abuse prevention.
  • Improve the Service: Aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to improve prediction quality.

Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored on secured servers.
  • Map files are encrypted using AES-256 encryption during transfer and are decrypted only in-memory on your device.
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with per-password salts.
  • Authentication tokens are stored in secure device storage.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties, except when required by Indonesian law or legal process, or with service providers who assist in operating our service under strict confidentiality agreements.

Third-Party Services

The app uses OpenStreetMap tiles for map display. No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs are included in our application.

Data Retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active.
  • You may request account deletion by contacting us.
  • Login and audit logs are retained for 90 days for security purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and data, and export your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children's Privacy

KapikanMaps is not intended for use by children under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted within the app and on our website.
